Once again this year, Akonovia had the honor of sponsoring the Soirée Dauphinelle, an essential event to support the remarkable work of this organization. La Dauphinelle is dedicated to helping women and children who are victims of domestic violence, offering them safe accommodation and unfailing psychological support.
The figures speak for themselves: “In Quebec in 2019, 21,957 offences against the person were committed in a conjugal context. And in 80% of these cases, women are the primary victims.
During this moving evening, courageous women shared their stories, revealing the strength needed to overcome tragic circumstances. The poignant testimonials touched the hearts of all present, underlining the importance of collective solidarity.
Donations were also collected to support an extremely important project: the opening of Maison d'Évelyn, scheduled for 2025. This new home will accommodate 14 families in a safe, transitional environment, offering a fresh start to those who need it so much.
